Creation and restoration of stained glass

Restoration of old joinery

Because the preservation of cultural heritage is an integral part of its raison d'être, la Verrerie Saint-Just® offers a complete range of restoration glass, combining the charm of the past with the technical performance of today. Indeed, the glassworks has preserved the ancestral know-how of manufacturing mouth-blown flat glass for joineries for over a century.

In order to modernise and comply with new requirements, Saint-Just® has adapted its products to the market offer: double-glazing, fire-resistant glazing, anti-UV glazing, etc. It is thus possible to obtain various types of restoration glass (fire protection glass, bullet-proof glass, anti-intrusion glass, self-cleaning glass, solar control glass, etc.) by combining our restoration glass with Saint-Gobain technical glass.

This so-called antique glass is now used for the restoration of old joinery, in order to maintain the original appearance of the building. We offer different types:

  • Colonial - Hand blown restoration glass: this is an extra-clear glass, with a unique appearance due to the bubbles, strings and vibrations of blown glass.
  • Noble drawn glass: this drawn glass, with larger dimensions than blown glass and a slightly vibrating aesthetic reminiscent of antique glass, allows a compromise between large dimensions and an antique appearance.
  • 1900 glass: this is float glass to which a heat treatment has been applied to give it the appearance of old glass.
